the story of the whole puppet thing…

goes like this.  i was attempting to make a kid’s show for my final piece in art school.  i needed puppets.  i could not afford to buy the puppets i wanted so i decided to make them myself. why i thought this was a good idea when i had NO experience sewing, i don’t know.  but sometimes im bull headed and that’s just what happens.

so i started.  i needed something like 14 puppets.  it got messy.  fur everywhere.

somehow though, i finished and the puppets came to life.  it was a fun time, albeit a huge failure.  too much work in too little time.  but that’s okay.  i learned a lot.

i thought my days of making puppets was over.  i mean, im not interested in puppetry or sewing.  why would i keep going down this road?

because people asked me to.  someone would want one for their kid and then someone else would and i freakin LOVE when kids love them so i’d oblige.  there’s nothing like knowing your puppet is going to a good home.  i cant help but get a little attached ya know?

so it’s kind of gone a little crazy lately. on a whim i applied to put some critters in a show called plush you.  i got in.  oops.  so i had to make a few more puppets.  these guys:

so anyway, after these guys, i was pretty much over it.  until…my friend had me apply for another show.  that started the whole 10 monsters in less than a week sewing fiasco.  it was tedious but ultimately fun.  check em out on the main page.

what happens now?  guess we’ll wait and see…
